Acceptable Platforms for Your Chapter

The following social media platforms are currently available for use by every SCORE chapter:

  • Facebook
  • Google Business Profile
  • LinkedIn

If a chapter has fully optimized the previously mentioned channels, and they have the volunteer bandwidth and expertise to do so, they are welcome to explore:

  • Instagram
  • Twitter

“Fully optimized” is defined as maintaining an active presence in which the Social Media Chair is meeting the following criteria:

  • Posting on the already existing channels at least three times per week
  • Responding to all comments, mentions, reviews and private messages within 24 hours (Monday-Friday)

If a chapter meets the above criteria and wishes to start a new Instagram or Twitter account, they must email [email protected] to have the account created on their behalf. All new login credentials will be housed in the SCORE HQ database. This is to safeguard against the loss of account access in the event of volunteer turnover.

How to Gain Access and Utilize Your Channels

Facebook Pages, Google Business Profiles and LinkedIn Company Pages have already been created on behalf of chapters. If you are interested in getting involved with your chapter’s social media presence, please email [email protected] to be assigned access.

There are two acceptable methods to access your chapter’s social media channels:

  • All Chapters: Natively, through the individual platform experiences
  • 50 Chapters: Via SOCi, SCORE HQ’s centralized social media management dashboard

Accessing your chapter’s social media channels natively allows for access to the full suite of features on each of the individual platforms.

Accessing your chapter’s social media channels through SOCi allows for management of all your chapter’s channels in one centralized dashboard. This allows for efficient cross-channel content posting and one universal inbox to manage user comments and messages.

Here are the requirements for each:

  • Natively

    • Facebook -- You must have a personal Facebook account created with a personal email address. Your personal account will become an “Editor” of your SCORE chapter Facebook Page, and you will have to provide your personal email address to the SCORE HQ team to receive an invite to manage the page.

Maintaining login credentials to personal accounts will be the responsibility of the volunteer.

    • Google Business Profile -- You will be sent an invite to become a “Manager” of your chapter’s Google Business Profile through your @scorevolunteer.org email address.

    • LinkedIn -- You must have a personal LinkedIn account. You will be asked to “Connect” with a member of the SCORE HQ team to be made an “Admin” of your chapter’s LinkedIn Company Page.

Maintaining login credentials to personal accounts will be the responsibility of the volunteer.
  • SOCi

  •
    • SOCi -- An invite to join the SOCi system will be sent to your @scorevolunteer.org email address. This email will prompt you to set up your account, including creating a unique password. You will access all of your chapter’s connected social media channels by logging into the SOCi platform with your @scorevolunteer.org email address and the password of your choosing.

Login credentials can be created, reset or revoked at any time by SCORE HQ.

Social media actions (including but not limited to content publishing, responding to community members and running advertisements) are exclusively permitted through the access methods outlined above.

How to Report Rogue Accounts

If you discover a social media channel for your chapter that is no longer active, please email [email protected]. We audit these channels regularly and have a process in place to dispute these accounts and regain access through the appropriate platform support channels.
